:::Starting this week i am practical at operation department. From CRM a move to Operation. many things i will learn in this department. Operation more focused on vessel sailing and also related about logistics. Mr.Syukri teach me about transshipment working procedure whereby to understand what is the nominate 2nd carrier for outside vessel and also sent vessel forecast to booking department. On 10 June, Friday i am already visit to depoh with Mr.Razi. Depoh is container yard, MT container (empty container). There is container collect from the consignee after consignee export the goods. All MT containers should be sent and collect at depoh. Consignee have 7 days maximum to ensure container shipment at depoh. If they late from period time, they will be charge on MISC.

:::For this week i am attach with import team to learn all about import service. Different what i am learn before this because import do not involved the B/L. Mr.Ruseli teach me all about inward freighting which how to know when vessel arrive notice. It is divide by two types namely estimate Time Arrive (ETA) and Actual Time Arrive (ATA). Then he teach about how to check the final manifest which is manifest rate, M/A issuance, to advice leading port and invoicing to release sheet using by Electronic Data interface (EDI). Besides that, Mr.Nur Muhamad also teach me about inward operation. This part have two types, first one is submission of inward status list to port authority to interface to system and for another one is Dangerous Goods (DG) approval discharge.

:::Second week i am practical at Misc. Today i learn something new with Mdm Intan. She teach me how to record the code and series number and shippers name. After record in computer she must to to record in log book also as a reference beside so easy to find. Other than that i learn already about Port Of Discharge (known as POD). POD is the port ships will be deliver the containers. For example ship from Port Klang went to deliver the goods and containers at New Zealand. So the New Zealand will knows as the port of discharge.

:::Today i learn about Sealiner Modules for the Customer Relationship management (CRM). Sealiner is a system whereby only Misc Agencies using this system. They have their own system to record, save and manage all of the data related with their consignee (customer), shippers, agents and everything what they have. In this system in CRM department each executive should be a quotation for every service. This quotation should completed first because other staff want to create the B/L based on the quotation.

:::Ms.Syazana executive for Australia and New Zealand service teach me how to do the quotation. I am create the quotation based on what i learn from her and other staff. This quotation very important because it is related with the B/L. Before they print out the quotation to attach with the B/L, they must to submit first the quotation to their Headquarter (HQ) at Dayabumi, Kuala Lumpur. HQ will be double check whether that quotation will be approved or not. If their HQ reject the quotation they must to do again or redo and if HQ approve they can proceed to booking the ships for their customer.

:::What i learn today already is about how to creating customer code. Each consignee have their own code and will be different code each other. Besides i also learn about sales call and inquiries. It is related with email and also calling from their customer or shipper. They must to answer each inquiries from their customer. usually everyday customer want to know what day and when ships will be sailing, booking the containers and so on. Besides that i learn about how to updating the quotation. If they make a mistake they should be update the new quotation and it is knows as Manifest Alteration (M/A) and each mistake involve money and losses (USD).

::For this week starting 23 May until 27 May my supervisor Mr.Hadi do not five me any task because of he want me to make a revision so that i am more understand about shipping liner. Maritime transportation is their core businesses. After 1 month i am here to completed my practical which is apart of my studies Mr.Hadi wants me to remember and recall what i am already learn. So, for this week i do not learn something new to add as a knowledge and following to my schedule i will continue my lecture for the next week.

::For this week I will learn about the types of B/L, procedures involved with each types of B/L. then my supervisor give me the new task so that I can learn something new in MISC. The task is to learn about shipping instruction and related with B/L and also how to make the draft B/L include invoicing. Besides that what I should be to do for this week is closing final manifest impact late closing and final load list. And also about M/A financial and non-financial impact, telex release certificates required by shippers and intra B/L.

::Types of B/L, procedures involved with each types of B/L that means it is the list of B/L thereby MISC have to do depending on the customer and service. They have some types of B/L such as Direct Bill of Lading, Through Transport Bill of Lading, Memo Bill of Lading, and many more. Shipping Instruction (SI) is very most important because without SI they do not make a B/L. shippers will send the Shipping Instruction by an email to MISC so that they can proceed with B/L.

::Invoicing must to attach with B/L. If closing final manifest impact late closing it is will give impact for the company. If vessel's already sail and final manifest still do not closing, MISC Port Klang branch can imposed the penalty by their head office. And then i am learn about final load list. It is the last container to enter shipped on board. Then shippers will recheck to ensure all of the containers sufficient and ready on board to sail.

::Manifest Alteration (M/A) can be divided by two types. First M/A is financial impact and second one is non-financial impact. M/A involve currency if each MISC branch do the mistake. MISC headquarter will charge on each mistake as much as U$50. Besides that, today i also learn about intra B/L. It is the same with shipping portal intra whereby more fast and easy to use to complete the documentation. But for now MISC do not use intra B/L because of to easy for make the mistake.

:::Today i learn and i do how to read the sailing schedule. All ships have their own schedule. Normally the ships sail went to Australian every tuesday and to New Zealand every ssaturday. In a week the ships will be delivered the goods one service only for that country. Besides that, i am learn also how to create and updating the lifting. Lifting have two types the first one is weekly lifting and second one id prospect lifting. Each lifting will be send to the head office as a report.

:::Today i am learn with Ms.Farzlina and Ms.Azlina. Both of them teach me hoe to accepting the booking from the customer request either by telephone, fax or by an email. That's mean one week or one month before vessel sail customer need make the booking for seek the available vessels. whom booking first they can get the vessel first based on service customer want to export.

:::Ms.Rashinah spend her time to me to teach about booking confirmation to customer either normal booking, OOG or DG containers booking after approval. Each booking from the customer no matter what types of booking, they need to get approval from their head office first. After they get the approval they can proceed and will send an email to make a booking confirmation with customer.

:::Today i am with Ms.Roza Azline. I am attach with her to learn about how to key in the DG and OOG containers booking based on customer request in sealiner system. Customer must to fill the form first to state what type of container they want, how many container, the date they want to export the goods and the details of them. Before Ms,Roza give the feedback to customer she need wait approval from head office. After that, she can proceed and make the booking confirmation with customer and she will save all the data as a record.

:::Today i am with Ms.Farzline. She already teach me about vessel forecast to vessel partners. She explain to me MISC just help help customer to seek the available vessels based on service for them. MISC still accept even though customer just want to vessel only not to rental the MISC containers. Besides that, i am also learn about shipping portal. The shipping portal is a intra system whereby to as a connection between MISC and customer.

:::This is my first day i am practical at MISC Agencies. Firstly my supervisor introduce me at all staff in department. For this month i am at Customer Relationship Management (CRM) department. My supervisor gives me the schedule along i am at MISC until i completed my practical. Mr. Azhar is Head of Trade already explain to me about the organization chart in this department and he also explain how the business will be run. In this department i will learn all about shipping which is how to deal with customers, how to send an email to customers which in other country with using MISC email. They have their company email to be connected with customers. I am so excited and enjoyed with what i do and what i learn at MISC Agencies.

:::Second day i am at Misc i already learn about market familiarization with Head of Trade such as reefer/dangerous goods containers or known as DG by my own supervisor Mr.Abdul Hadi Aziz Wong. Today i learn about types of equipment. For this part i learn about shipping, the names of ships and also about types of containers. Besides that i also learn about port of calls for each service. From this part what i learn already is how to looking and read the schedule. That mean is how the shippers as a carrier deliver the product in other countries (knows as service) and how many days they take to the product or goods will arrive (known as transit time days).

:::Third day in first week i learn about how to deal with customers from Australia and New Zealand. The person whom handle this service is Ms.Wan Fairuzana. I already learn with her about the shipping terms, competitors activities and trade restriction. All goods and product want to export to Australian and New Zealand should be through Ms.Zana because she is Trade of Trade to in charge both of countries. She will arrange the containers and cargo. So i am learn many things especially about how to compose the container on cargoes.

:::Today i am learn about trade restrictions with Ms.Norasyikin and Mr.Azhar. Both of them teach me about the sanctions. This restrictions might be happen if the containers. Each service, the have their own condition to guide them to follow the rules. other than that, i learn about how to calculate the containers onto cargoes. They have their own guide and space to compile the containers (known as slot). This slot cannot less or more because it is happen the containers will be load and overweight. In MISC they have many types of containers. An example 20ft Dry Container, 40ft High Cube Dry Container, 20ft and 40ft Flat Rack Container and many more they have. So, if the products will be length they have their own special container. Also they have the cold container special for frozen food, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and so on.

:::Today i am learn how to make a report. Every morning MISC Agencies Port Klang branch should be to submit the report to their headquarter by an email. Beside i learn how to do the Bill of Lading (known as B/L). This B/L very important because without B/L customer cannot release their containers with shippers. So, if customers did not bring or they lose their B/L they cannot release their products in port. The original B/L should have the Head of Trade signature in MISC agent because if anything happen with the B/L that person will be responsible on that B/L.
