:::Starting this week i am practical at operation department. From CRM a move to Operation. many things i will learn in this department. Operation more focused on vessel sailing and also related about logistics. Mr.Syukri teach me about transshipment working procedure whereby to understand what is the nominate 2nd carrier for outside vessel and also sent vessel forecast to booking department. On 10 June, Friday i am already visit to depoh with Mr.Razi. Depoh is container yard, MT container (empty container). There is container collect from the consignee after consignee export the goods. All MT containers should be sent and collect at depoh. Consignee have 7 days maximum to ensure container shipment at depoh. If they late from period time, they will be charge on MISC.

:::For this week i am attach with import team to learn all about import service. Different what i am learn before this because import do not involved the B/L. Mr.Ruseli teach me all about inward freighting which how to know when vessel arrive notice. It is divide by two types namely estimate Time Arrive (ETA) and Actual Time Arrive (ATA). Then he teach about how to check the final manifest which is manifest rate, M/A issuance, to advice leading port and invoicing to release sheet using by Electronic Data interface (EDI). Besides that, Mr.Nur Muhamad also teach me about inward operation. This part have two types, first one is submission of inward status list to port authority to interface to system and for another one is Dangerous Goods (DG) approval discharge.

:::Second week i am practical at Misc. Today i learn something new with Mdm Intan. She teach me how to record the code and series number and shippers name. After record in computer she must to to record in log book also as a reference beside so easy to find. Other than that i learn already about Port Of Discharge (known as POD). POD is the port ships will be deliver the containers. For example ship from Port Klang went to deliver the goods and containers at New Zealand. So the New Zealand will knows as the port of discharge.

:::Today i learn about Sealiner Modules for the Customer Relationship management (CRM). Sealiner is a system whereby only Misc Agencies using this system. They have their own system to record, save and manage all of the data related with their consignee (customer), shippers, agents and everything what they have. In this system in CRM department each executive should be a quotation for every service. This quotation should completed first because other staff want to create the B/L based on the quotation.

:::Ms.Syazana executive for Australia and New Zealand service teach me how to do the quotation. I am create the quotation based on what i learn from her and other staff. This quotation very important because it is related with the B/L. Before they print out the quotation to attach with the B/L, they must to submit first the quotation to their Headquarter (HQ) at Dayabumi, Kuala Lumpur. HQ will be double check whether that quotation will be approved or not. If their HQ reject the quotation they must to do again or redo and if HQ approve they can proceed to booking the ships for their customer.

:::What i learn today already is about how to creating customer code. Each consignee have their own code and will be different code each other. Besides i also learn about sales call and inquiries. It is related with email and also calling from their customer or shipper. They must to answer each inquiries from their customer. usually everyday customer want to know what day and when ships will be sailing, booking the containers and so on. Besides that i learn about how to updating the quotation. If they make a mistake they should be update the new quotation and it is knows as Manifest Alteration (M/A) and each mistake involve money and losses (USD).
